ReplyDeleteYou can just tell that Jaeha's just tired of fighting. I love how in the chapter after he resigns himself to fighting Kija he acknowledges that fighting Kija won't be an easy task since out of the two of them, Kija is stronger. That's brotherhood. (Especially that moment where he smashes a Kai soldier's bow and starts the fight with Kija in the first place partially to avoid Kija getting shot.)
And poor Shinah and Zeno. Even though Shinah is the best match against Zeno, Shinah has his hands full having to fight and original warrior. And the strongest one when activated at that. It's just heartbreaking seeing Zeno ask Shinah to try to beat him fast for Hak's sake, and the transition to Hak getting injured is perfect.
I've noticed that a lot of people online have made a big deal about Hak getting injured in this chapter. And don't get me wrong, it IS a big deal (although I don't think our beloved Thunder Beast will die THAT easily especially at the hands of someone who is a lackey and not even a main villain), but this chapter felt like it was more of the dragon's chapter to me. A struggle for them between brotherhood and duty.

DeleteI completely agree with you! I am worried about Hak getting hurt, but for me looking how Jea-ha and Zeno.. just look so defeated with themselves, hurt me more than watching Hak get hurt. Next chapter is going to end the volume. So we might have another cliffhanger T-T
No problem! Translaters need more love! I agree that the Dragon's expressions, particularly poor Jaeha's and Zeno's is the killer of this chapter. I really hope that when Yona whispered in their ears in chapter 167 that they were able to use what she said as a plan to get out of this situation. Jaeha was given information about how Li Hazara and his army faction have a weak loyalty and battle morale for Kuelbo. So that could be used to destroy the Kai army from the inside. Yoon was told to run if he ever got the chance. But what Yona said to Zeno was omitted.
DeleteI feel like Yona wouldn't tell Yoon to run unless she truly felt like the chance would arrive. So for that reason, I have a theory that whatever she told Zeno is the final piece of the plan. But unfortunately it seems like Zeno and Jaeha are going to have to kill parts of their souls first by working for Kuelbo for a bit in order for the plan to happen. It makes me wonder if they truly intend to actually take down Shinah and Kija to activate the plan, or if they're going to hold back a little and tell Shinah and Kija what they're trying to do while fighting. The chapter is called "The Strongest Decoy" so we know SOME plan is taking place.
It's just sad that we'll have to wait until January 19th to find out what mastermind strategy Yona has set rolling. And I totally agree that the next chapter will probably be a cliffhanger. My biggest worry though is that the cliffhanger will have something to do with Gobi. I don't like how he looked at Yona last chapter when Kuelbo was carying her on his shoulder.
I feel like he's becoming an issue that really can't be ignored. It was weird from the get-go that Gobi encouraged Kuelbo to marry Yona. Like how does that benefit HIM and HIS desire for the dragons? He already knows that the only way to TRULY control the dragons is through Yona. I feel like for him, the solution for him is simple. He's gotten control of the dragons through using Kuelbo. The only logical thing for him to do would be to marry Yona himself to control the dragons permanently.
Now that's a sick and twisted thing to do, and would obviously never work because out precious dragons and Hak would kill him first, but it doesn't seem like something Gobi would be above trying. He's probably trying to figure out a way to control Yona first though since after that kick to the neck he got, he knows that she can defend herself. I feel like the cliffhanger (or at the very least what will happen in future chapters) might be that Gobi is going to try to steal Yona for himself with his allies while Kuelbo's in battle. Or if we're lucky, and Kusangi-sensei feels like sparing our hearts any more suffering, we might see the plan go into action with as little damage as possible done to our Dragons, and see Hak shake off the scratch that nameless soldier gave him. (But I feel like that may be wishful thinking...)
Also, I apologize for the lengthy replies. I literally just wrote a whole book. My theorizing went out of control.
